QTRAX — Enterprise Music Web Application

Software Engineer @ Software Development Center (SDC), Da Nang University

Situation

The project involved an existing enterprise application where development work was affected by:

  • Ambiguous or incomplete requirements.
  • Technical blockers during implementation.
  • Existing modules requiring enhancement and bug fixes.
  • Integration requirements with third-party music APIs.
  • Coordination challenges with a technical leader working in a different time zone.
  • The need to maintain development momentum despite asynchronous communication.

Task

Develop and maintain QTRAX, a music-focused enterprise web application supporting music-related operational workflows and integration with third-party music services. The project focused on backend development, application-module enhancement, third-party API integration, bug resolution, and continuous improvement of the existing Java-based application.

Solution

Contributed to the QTRAX platform as a backend-focused Software Engineer using Java, Spring MVC, and Hibernate. The implementation focused on:

  • Backend module development.
  • Spring MVC application development.
  • Hibernate-based database access.
  • Third-party music API integration.
  • Existing module enhancement.
  • Bug fixing.
  • Requirements analysis.
  • Clean and maintainable code delivery.
  • Proactive technical communication with the remote technical leader.

Contribution

I was responsible for backend development and technical implementation while also contributing to requirements analysis and remote coordination. I:

  • Developed backend functionality using Java and Spring MVC.
  • Implemented database access using Hibernate.
  • Enhanced existing application modules.
  • Integrated third-party music APIs.
  • Investigated and fixed application bugs.
  • Analyzed requirements and identified unclear areas.
  • Prioritized critical technical tasks.
  • Investigated and resolved implementation blockers.
  • Proposed multiple technical approaches when requirements or implementation decisions were unclear.
  • Prepared solution options for the technical leader to review when he became available.
  • Maintained development momentum despite time-zone differences.

Technologies

  • Languages: Java
  • Frameworks: Spring MVC, Hibernate, Spring Template Engine
  • Frontend: Spring Template Engine, HTML
  • Database: MySQL
  • Integration: Third-Party Music APIs
  • Cloud / Infrastructure: AWS, Linux
  • DevOps / Source Control: Git

Results

  • Maintained steady feature development despite remote time-zone differences.
  • Resolved application bugs and technical blockers.
  • Enhanced existing application modules.
  • Supported integration with third-party music APIs.
  • Improved development communication efficiency through proactive solution proposals.
  • Maintained clean and structured Java/Spring implementation.
