  • Led 3 engineers on eTarifare V2, a ground-up rebuild of a Romanian road-tax control system, turning complex requirements into production-ready Laravel features while preserving existing business rules.
  • Reduced average queries per request by ~40% on key endpoints by eliminating N+1 queries (eager loading, query consolidation) and adding Redis caching, lowering database load.
  • Restructured multistep road-tax workflows into modular components that separate orchestration, validation, and business rules, so new steps or rules can be added in about an hour without touching existing flows.
  • Secured road-tax and payment APIs with OAuth 2.0 on Laravel Passport, plus a custom layer that flags suspected token leaks via IP and User-Agent mismatch.

  • Delivered the refactor on a separate branch, continuously syncing other engineers’ changes and releasing only after testing and careful merge review, with no planned downtime.
  • Designed a Django Model Cache layer that automatically caches single-record lookups, replacing a separate CacheService class for each model and eliminating 1,000+ lines of duplicated code, so new models needed no extra caching code.
